Modern and dynamic: BIV - the regional association of guild bakers Conscious in its tradition, modern in its attitude - this is what characterizes the Lower Saxony/Bremen Bakers' Guild Association (BIV). It currently comprises 29 regional guilds with 573 bakery companies. This corresponds to around two thirds of all baking businesses in the two federal states. The BIV thus presents itself as a strong and powerful employer community. For its guilds and their member companies, the association acts as a a comprehensive service provider active representation of interests concise seal of quality. The effectiveness of the BIV as a service provider, pool of ideas and network is rated extremely positively by many members. This is especially true in comparison to other service providers in the baking industry. The BIV is an information hub, an organizer of independent further training or a very concrete helper when it comes to technical baking and business management challenges. The BIV performs tasks that individual guilds or companies could not do on their own in terms of quality. The full range of services is summarized in a leaflet in addition to this website. Networked nationwide The Lower Saxony/Bremen Bakers' Guild Association is one of 16 state associations of the bakery trade in Germany. It is a member of the advertising association of the Central Association of the German Bakery Trade and of the Central Association of the German Bakery Trade itself. Close cooperation is maintained with the sister associations in northern Germany. The network is closely interwoven nationwide and regionally. It also includes trade associations from other sectors. The skilled trades appear together on the national political stage - the bakery trade is always there for its member companies. With the Bäckerfachschule (BFS) Hannover - an institute of the Akademie Deutsches Bäckerhandwerk - the BIV is the only northern German bakery trade association to have its own training and further education facility. This is where master bakers are trained, apprentices receive inter-company training and journeymen and sales staff are brought up to date with the latest knowledge in their professions in special seminars.
