The history of our company dates back to 1975, when Central Laboratories were established within the framework of the Czechoslovak uranium industry in order to provide service and research activities to all environmental protection units and in the development of technologies for the complex processing of uranium ores in the Czech Republic. Company MEGA, established in 1992, based on its own research results and experience, began to commercially supply technological assemblies and services to meet the demands and requirements of customers in the area of environmental protection, focusing primarily on membrane technologies. Environmental protection is a fundamental worldwide priority. The effective use of water resources for the needs of households and industry is probably the area of greatest importance from the range of environmental challenges facing us. Neither life nor industrial production is possible without access to quality water. Due to the worsening quality of water sources, water is becoming a fundamental strategic resource and technologies for the preparation of “quality” water are gaining ever-increasing importance and membrane separation processes have an indispensable role in this field. This group of processes is quite large and apart from water management they are applied in practically all areas of industry. For humanity their most important application is in the purification and desalination of water and in food processing for the production of milk and whey. MEGA is focused primarily on electro-membrane processes (electrodialysis, electrophoresis, electrodeionization and membrane electrolysis).

The cornerstone of development in this field is the proprietary patented production of various types of heterogeneous ion-exchange membranes for various applications. Quality and complex solutions in the area of water and solution treatment are not always possible by the application of solely electromembrane processes, but sometimes there is a need to combine them with pressure membrane processes (reverse osmosis, ultra-filtration, micro-filtration, and others), which we also have in our product portfolio. Our offering and delivery of hybrid membrane technologies fully reflects our long-term strategy, which is to be the leading company in the area of electromembrane and integrated systems and to offer our customers environmentally friendly solutions.

All products and technologies supplied by our company are the result of our own research and development work. For this reason, research, development and innovation are given a very high importance in our company and at least 10% of our turnover is invested into these activities every year. Our main goal is the satisfaction of our customers, whom our experienced team of experts, technologists and researchers is ready to assist with their requests and requirements.
