It started with an idea: Could we develop a coated snack food that could be cooked in minutes in a microwave and yet remain crisp, succulent and tasty – and at the same time be low in fat?

Preliminary investigations began in the early 1990s in the UK, when we started to explore the technological possibilities. It took many years before our idea became a commercially useable concept, proven and approved for production on an industrial scale.
