Behind isaac nutrition are Charlotte, Tim and Markus, exercise fanatics who love sports and good food. Their nutrition plays an important role for all three of them.

The idea for isaac was born back in 2016: a report in the business magazine brandeins first made them aware of the health and ecological benefits of insects. This gave rise to the plan to make insects accessible to the West as a foodstuff. The team quickly received a lot of encouragement from nutrition experts, scientists and from its sports-oriented environment.

isaac nutrition believes that the functional benefits of the innovative raw material insect protein and the demands of athletes go together. For a long time, the founders were not satisfied with what was available in this market. The goal is therefore to develop well thought-out and scientifically sound products for the sports nutrition market that make use of insect proteins.

isaac nutrition wants to show possibilities to combine conscious consumption and functional demands and to contribute to establish insects as a food source. In doing so, the founding team wants to communicate honestly with its customers and partners: The product won't single-handedly make you strong or fit, and it certainly won't save the world. But: isaac is a step in the right direction, toward a healthy and resource-conserving diet in which insects can play a valuable role.

In the nine-month product development of the protein powder, isaac nutrition worked closely with athletes from the field of functional sports - CrossFit, Calisthenics, Freeletics, etc. - to develop the product. The receptiveness of this target group for food supplements with insect ingredients was very high from the beginning. Therefore, a special focus was placed on the holistic nature of the powder: The protein powder is not the one with the highest protein content, but provides important minerals, vitamins, healthy fats and fiber and relies on high-quality ingredients.

isaac nutrition thus supports all athletes who strive for a balanced and protein-rich diet in their lifestyle and regeneration.

In order to develop a truly functional, healthy and ecologically valuable product that meets these demands, isaac nutrition takes on the challenge of a profound scientific foundation for its products. To this end, the isaac team cooperates closely with food technologists and nutritionists from Münster University of Applied Sciences, in particular from the Institute for Sustainable Nutrition. This cooperation focused primarily on optimizing the amino acid profile by combining different protein sources as well as the nutrient profile. Patience, accuracy and honesty were and are required in each of these steps.

isaac nutrition is currently receiving start-up funding through an EXIST-Gründerstipendium from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the European Social Fund, as well as funding from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
