Birkenhof-Brennerei GmbH
About Birkenhof-Brennerei
The BIRKENHOF-BRENNEREI was founded in 1848 in Erbach/Nistertal and is today managed in the seventh generation by Stefanie and Peter Klöckner. The company combines traditional (art) craftsmanship with modern technology and, as a pleasure factory, is extremely successful in bringing "new traditions into old barrels". These include fine brandies made from grain and fruit, whisky (FADING HILL) and gin (GENTLE66, DLG-awarded as Best International Gin/Dry Gin/London Gin 2014), rum (JON), vintage grain (LUK) as well as trend liqueurs and traditional specialities such as Westerwald caraway and corn.
The distillery has received many national and international awards - the distillery has won the Rhineland-Palatinate State Prize and the DLG Federal Prize several times, as well as a number of gold medals for its products - the company places great value on regionalism and sustainability and obtains as many raw materials as possible directly from the region. The BIRKENHOF-BRENNEREI currently has 30 employees and sells its products throughout Germany and in other European countries.
In 2015, the company's headquarters in Nistertal was extended by a visitor forum of more than 250 square metres, which also houses a new whisky distillery (pot still still, 1400 L).
Approximately 20,000 visitors annually take advantage of the enjoyable visitor and seminar program at Birkenhof. The direct connection between the historical grain distillery, the forum, the distillery and the whisky warehouse provides visitors with an intuitive access to the distillery.
