“Suntory Group Global Water Action is a great opportunity to reflect as a group on our founding spirit of giving back to society and Mizu To Ikiru, or living with water, which is our promise to stakeholders,” said Tak Niinami, CEO of Suntory Holdings. “Suntory’s greatest priority across our business is supporting the sustainability of water, which is the source of our business as well as a precious resource essential to human life.”
“As a company that places water at its core, we have been engaged in a variety of efforts for many years to conserve and educate about this important resource in Japan, and globally, and this is one of many good examples,” added Kazuhiro Saito, CEO of Suntory Beverage & Food.
“Water is at the core of our business and integral to our products,” said Albert Baladi, CEO of Beam Suntory. “Our ability to preserve and protect this precious resource for future generations will be central to our legacy, and I’m very proud of the work Beam Suntory is doing, inspired by Suntory Holdings, to establish Natural Water Sanctuaries and our Together for Good global day of service.”
“Suntory Group Global Water Action” activities will include:
- Suntory Holdings will conduct local volunteer activities across Japan throughout March and April such as cleaning beaches in several locations and rivers located near the factories and offices as well as improving conditions in forest preserves to cultivate water.
- Beam Suntory will conduct local volunteer activities around the world through “Together for Good” initiative on 30th Apr with the participation of company executives. During its inaugural year in 2019, the event drew nearly 2,000 volunteers through 55 activities in 14 countries, and it promises to be even bigger in 2020.
- Suntory Beverage & Food will conduct volunteer activities related to Mizu To Ikiru in Asia in March, such as tree planting exercise involving employee volunteers from their factories and local officials in Indonesia. Employees across Europe and export markets will conduct volunteer activities focusing on cleaning waterways in their communities located near the factories and offices thr
