Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) is a Chilean shipping company. Founded in 1872, it is one of the oldest shipping companies in the world and one of the largest in Latin America. It is a corporation whose shares have been listed publicly since 1893.

The company’s business initially consisted exclusively of coastal shipping services but these were rapidly extended along the whole west coast of South America to the Panama Canal before this was opened to regular traffic.

CSAV then extended the scope of its business to the United States, followed by Europe, the Far East and Japan, South-East Asia/Pacific Islands and the east coast of South America. We specialize in container shipping but also offers special services, such as the carrying of liquid and solid bulk cargos, reefers and cars.

CSAV is a global company, operating more than 30 liner services around the world and has a commercial network with a presence in nearly 200 cities worldwide.
