It all started with a vegan month in the fall of 2015. Tobias and Luca conducted a self-experiment and ate a vegan diet for a month. During this time, the two had to look very closely at the ingredients of products when shopping. In the process, they noticed that many foods from the supermarket contained too many unwanted additives. When Tobi's attention was drawn to the baby food range while shopping, he wondered how it could be suitable for consumption for 18 months and more, despite the lack of shelf life.

Tobias' old friend and food scientist José explained to him that the porridges are preserved by heat sterilization, which, however, destroys not only germs and bacteria but also all natural vitamins, flavors and color. So it quickly became clear to the three later founders that a fresh alternative to the existing range was needed.

Yamo was founded by Tobias, José and Luca with the goal of creating the freshest and tastiest organic baby porridge in the world. The Swiss startup is supported by several nutritional and pediatric consultants.
