2009: Arkeon's Story started already 12 years ago in Vienna, Austria. Simon, our Co-Founder, worked for over a decade on technologies to produce value added compounds from CO2. Until he found the perfect solution: Archaea. Archaea is one of the oldest living microorganisms on our planet. Now we can use it's organic superpowers to create protein. 2015: Günther and Simon partnered to develop, establish, invent a robust biotechnological concept. 2017: Simon discovered a strain of Archaea capable of converting CO2 into all 20 proteinogenic amino acids by natural fermentation. 2020: Based on Simons breakthrough discovery, Günther and Simon established an efficient bioprocess to convert CO2 into amino acids. Gregor jumps on board to support the team. He worked for over a decade on a technology converting gas into value added compounds until he discovered microorganisms capable of producing food from CO2 - all without genetic engineering. 2021:Gregor, Simon and Guenther are convinced to make their vision come true: realizing a regenerative food production technology. Arkeon is founded.
