Anheuser-Busch InBev Q3 Profit Rises
Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev, known as AB InBev (BUD, AHBIF.PK) reported that its third-quarter 2014 profit attributable to equity holders increased to $2.5 billion from $2.37 billion last year, reflecting a non-recurring gain of $81 million due mainly to incremental proceeds from disposals in prior years. Basic earnings per share were $1.53 this quarter, higher than $1.44 reported a year before.
On a normalized basis, quarterly profit attributable to equity holders of AB InBev was $2.315 billion, compared with the prior year's $2.205 billion, driven by lower net finance costs. Revenue for the recent quarter rose to $12.24 billion from $11.73 billion in the year-ago period.
For full year 2014, the company expects revenue per hl to grow organically in line with inflation, on a constant geographic basis, as a result of continued improvement in mix and revenue management initiative. (dpa)
