SABMiller Q1 Group NPR Up 3% On Level Beverage Volumes
brewer SABMiller Plc. Thursday said its first-quarter group net producer revenue or NPR grew 3 percent on level beverage volumes, reflecting group NPR per hectolitre growth in all regions.
Reported group NPR declined 10 percent due to the depreciation of key currencies against the US dollar.
According to the company, good beverage volume growth in Latin America and Africa was offset by declines in Europe in particular, together with Asia Pacific and North America.
Soft drinks volumes rose 4 percent, offset by a 1 percent decline in lager volumes.
Alan Clark, CEO, said, "Both revenue and volumes grew strongly in Latin America and Africa in the quarter, tempered in particular by a challenging quarter in our key European markets where the trading environment remains difficult and softer volumes in China."
Clark said the company continues to make good progress in its strategy of driving top line growth which is reflected in the growth of revenue per hectolitre across our regions. (dpa)
