Jägermeister Increases Sales

16-Mar-2016 - Germany

In 2015, Mast-Jägermeister SE continued the successful international expansion of its business by increasing global sales of its 70cl bottles to 88.3 million (6.9m 9-litre cases). This 1.4% increase (2014: 87.1 million bottles; 6.8m 9-litre cases) ensures Jägermeister maintains its position as the world’s best-selling liqueur brand. Now sold in 117 countries around the world (2014: 108 countries), almost 80% of the brand’s sales come from outside of Germany.

Growth In Numerous Markets
Despite a price change in 2015, sales for Jägermeister remained nearly constant in Germany; the brand’s key, domestic market. Meanwhile, Mast-Jägermeister SE achieved a slight uplift in sales to the USA and also became directly responsible for the entire business of the brand in the world’s most important market for premium spirits; Long-term distribution partner, Sidney Frank Importing Company, was acquired on 1 August 2015. Sales in the Spanish market – now the company’s fourth-largest after the USA, Germany and the UK – exceeded three million bottles for the first time. Sales also rose significantly in the Czech Republic, France and Hungary.

Moderate Outlook
In light of growing economic uncertainty, particularly in Europe, Asia and South America, the company is taking a cautious approach to its forecasting. Paolo Dell’Antonio, Spokesman for the Executive Board, Mast-Jägermeister SE, comments “Provided that the economic uncertainties in many parts of the world do not worsen, we anticipate a moderate increase in sales”.
