Agricultural Research and Food Sciences: the University of Hohenheim maintains the top position in Germany

Research ranking of the National Taiwan University lists the University of Hohenheim as No. 1 in Germany, No. 6 in Europe, No. 21 worldwide

The ranking published yesterday by the National Taiwan University (NTU) of the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart once again confirms the highest research level in Germany in the agricultural, food and nutrition sciences. The university ranks 6th in Europe and 21st worldwide, while the NTU ranking examines the number and quality of scientific publications. The University of Hohenheim thus continues to occupy Germany's top position in all four relevant rankings.

The current ranking of the National Taiwan University (NTU) confirms: The University of Hohenheim remains a leader in agricultural research in Germany. The world-renowned ranking was published yesterday. It evaluates all international scientific publications annually and weights them according to scientific productivity, excellence, and scientific influence. The 500 best universities in 14 subject areas are published (Ranking by Subject).

The food and nutrition sciences at the University of Hohenheim are also contributing to the good results in the "Agricultural Sciences" area. The National Taiwan University counts their research achievements in agricultural sciences.

The University of Hohenheim's top position in Germany is also confirmed by all other renowned international rankings:
The influential QS World University Ranking lists agricultural research including food science at the University of Hohenheim as number 1 in Germany, number 8 in Europe and number 34 worldwide. The analysis by Quacquarelli Symons, a British education provider, annually ranked as the best universities by research, academic reputation and publications. The fan ranking was published in February 2018.

The current Best Global Universities Ranking ranked agricultural research including food and nutrition science at the University of Hohenheim as number 1 in Germany, number 5 in Europe and number 15 in the world. The U.S. News & World Report's subject ranking is based on the Thomson Reuters' Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) analysis of scientific publications and international reputation. It was published in November 2017.

In the CWUR World University Rankings, the University of Hohenheim is the only university in Germany to achieve two top ten positions in the field of agricultural sciences. The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) published its first evaluation for individual scientific subjects in April 2017, the ranking for 2018 has not yet appeared.

Cooperation links the top universities

Together they are even better: The universities in Wageningen and Copenhagen are the best universities in the Netherlands and Denmark and the University of Hohenheim has long been closely linked through the Euroleague of Life Sciences. This network relies on joint study programmes and intensive exchange between students and teachers.

The partnership with the world's leading companies is also close. The University of Hohenheim and the China Agricultural University have been cooperating for decades. The University of Hohenheim is linked to the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil through the Strategic Network Bioeconomics.
