A search of a house in the rural Khabarovsk region revealed a refrigerated container with more than a ton of red caviar and over 60 unspecified fish, the report said, citing the Federal Security Service.
Red caviar, typically from salmon or trout, is cheaper than the rarer black caviar from sturgeon. Authorities are considering opening a case on a poaching charge, the report said. The charge is punishable by two years in prison.
