Ajinomoto OmniChem is part of the Ajinomoto group - world leader in amino acids. Ajinomoto OmniChem is divided in 2 Divisions: OmniChem and AminoScience.

The OmniChem Division consists of 3 business lines: Pharmaceutical Fine Chemicals (PFC's), NaturalSpecialities and Tensiofix.

The Ajinomoto NaturalSpecialities Business Line was initiated more than 60 years ago, and is specialized in extraction and purification of botanicals. Today we are one of the leading polyphenol producers in the world.

Ajinomoto NaturalSpecialities has been producing tannic acids (hydrolysable tannins) - "gallotannins" - since 1947 and has therefore a developed a leading and undisputed position on this market.

Besides tannic acid, we have accumulated a unique expertise in the field of polyphenols. We have a dedicated team of 10 scientists working on the development of new kinds of polyphenols and natural specialities based on extraction processes with possible combination with hemi-synthesis.

We are specialised in solvent-based extraction and have developped a unique continuous process combining flexilibity and large output. Today our total extraction capacity exceeds 6,000 mTons of botanicals per year.
