Two foodie friends & the peanut butter crisis
Trigger? The "peanut butter crisis"! (Handelsblatt, 09/2019). In mid-2019, there was a huge shortage of peanut butter across the country. There is much debate about the reasons: Trump's punitive tariffs? Or crop failures after all? As foodies and passionate peanut butter fans, we went looking. Online? "Out of stock"!
Next stop: Edeka, Rewe and Co. We asked questions. Lots of questions. Why is there no German producer of peanut butter? Why does it contain palm oil and industrial sugar so often? Why are there no innovative varieties with other nuts? The "cheeky" idea of simply making it ourselves and much better was born. Join us on our journey. We look forward to seeing you!
