At their annual kick-off conference in Berlin, the German corporate initiative DENEFF awarded the product with a jury prize. The body of experts commended the SuPremE motor as the most exciting innovation in energy efficiency. KSB had demonstrated “most impressively the fabulous spirit of entrepreneurs and inventors on which energy transition can be founded,” commented Carsten Müller, DENEFF Chairman of the Board.

The synchronous reluctance motor achieves high efficiencies also at low speeds, which sets it apart from common electric drives. In addition, it does away with the need for magnetic materials, which are used for conventional synchronous motors. These materials are made from rare earths whose extraction causes considerable environmental impacts in their countries of origin.
