McDonald's Coffee Now Served On WestJet Flights

22-Nov-2016 - USA

McDonald's brewed coffee McCafe will be served on Canada's WestJet flights. It is estimated that more than 30,000 cups of coffee will be served by WestJet to customers in signature cups.

The first brewed McCafe coffee was offered on Monday on Flight 659 that flew from Toronto to Calgary. By December 1, the airline expects that McCafe will be served hot across its fleet of Boeing 737NG and 767NG. In future McDonald's will serve coffee on WestJet Encore flights also.

Canadians have a special love for coffee and the annual average volume per person is 152 liters, much more than 115 liters for an American.
McDonald's with an entry into a non-traditional market has plans to offer other products also on board.

Gregg Saretsky, WestJet President and CEO said, "We are delighted to bring a new way to café on board WestJet and know that our 21 million guests per year will enjoy the taste of a complimentary McCafé Premium Roast Coffee wherever they are flying. The collaboration between our two caring brands is a perfect pairing, as McCafé's values are reflected in WestJet's commitment to offer an unmatched guest experience." (dpa)
