Collaboration BPF and Wageningen Food & Biobased Research
BPF and Wageningen Food & Biobased Research are highly qualified and specialized organisations that both focus on the agri-food and sustainable chemistry areas. Moreover, their client portfolio strongly overlaps. While Wageningen Food & Biobased Research focuses primarily on biochemical conversion, biorefining and biobased processes on a lab scale, BPF is strong in scaling up biotechnological processes on a pilot scale, including the manufacture of food grade products and ingredients.
According to Raimo van der Linden, business development manager of BPF, the collaboration means that new and existing clients can limit the risks during the development process and shorten the time-to-market: “One of the main hurdles for new biobased processes is technical and economic validation at pilot scale. This cooperation will de-risk and speed up the commercialization for our customers. "
Jacco van Haveren, Biobased Chemicals Program Manager at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research, adds: “The cooperation between our organizations helps both our customers in getting technologies ready to enter the pilot phase. By working closely together, we offer a fully integrated development process, from process design on paper to a solid business case.”
BPF is situated on the Biotech Campus Delft. Wageningen Food & Biobased Research has its facilities on the Campus of Wageningen University & Research.
