The Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) is the only institution in Quebec dedicated exclusively to graduate research and training. Our professors and students are active worldwide. In partnership with the community and industry, we are proud to contribute to the development of society through our discoveries and the training of young people capable of scientific, social and technological innovation. INRS offers master's and doctoral programs, short programs, a Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures Spécialisées (DESS), several dual degree programs and co-supervision of theses with universities in France. INRS has 150 professors and is among the top universities in Canada in terms of research intensity (grants per professor). Very active in fundamental research, which is essential to the advancement of science in Quebec and on the international scene, our research teams of professors, students, postdoctoral fellows and research professionals play a key role in developing concrete solutions to the concerns of our society in areas such as health, the environment, water and earth sciences, nanotechnologies, new materials, green energy, population studies and urban studies.
