Investing in the future: Südpack inaugurates its new production plant in Kłobuck, Poland

21-Nov-2016 - Germany

Südpack Kłobuck (formerly Bahpol) has been part of Südpack Verpackungen GmbH & Co KG for about a year. The packaging film specialists are now further expanding their new site in Poland: Johannes Remmele, Managing Partner of the Südpack Group, opened a new production plant that will significantly increase Südpack Kłobuck’s production capacity in the coming months. The investment, which has expanded the site by 1,000 square meters, strengthens Südpack’s position in the attractive East European market. As part of the opening ceremony, which was attended by the District Administrator Kiepura, his deputy Biernacki and the Mayor of Kłobuck, Zakrzewksi, Remmele praised the rapid and extremely successful integration of the Polish location into the corporate group: The teamwork between the headquarters in Ochsenhausen and the Kłobuck site has developed very smoothly, and is already considered a success story by all concerned.

“After just a year, with its particular expertise in the field of flexographic printing and finishing for films, Südpack Kłobuck has become an important pillar of our business, as reflected in the rapid, double-digit increase in turnover. We, the Remmele/Grimbacher family, would like to whole-heartedly thank all the employees and managers at Südpack Kłobuck for making the transition and expansion over the past year such a success, and for the responsibilities they have shouldered,” said Remmele. “We still have big plans here: The East European market is very important for Südpack, and with Kłobuck as a base it’s one we can serve quickly and locally. Accordingly, we will continue to invest in expanding our production capacities. The new production plant marks an important first step.”

With an area of roughly 1,000 square meters, the new building, located in the immediate vicinity of the main site, offers ample space for additional production. At the moment, several new machines (printing, laminating, roll cutting) are being brought on line. “The new plant satisfies all criteria for modern, efficient production,” stated Achim Herter, Managing Director of Südpack Kłobuck. “This means we can offer our customers even better service with an excellent price-performance ratio, and are well-prepared for the future.” Overall, the Kłobuck site has developed very positively over the last twelve months – as the increase in the number of employees shows: since being acquired by Südpack, more than 20 new positions have been added to the 100 jobs already in place. That’s why, beyond investing in production capacity, Südpack is also investing in staff training and encouraging new talent – for example through partnerships with schools in Kłobuck and Częstochowa.
