Vion sells livestock trading business in Neumünster to ZNVG eG
As part of the strategic realignment of its international activities, Vion Food Group has sold its cattle marketing operations in Neumünster to the marketing association ZNVG. The corresponding agreement was signed by both companies this week, subject to the usual closing conditions. The transaction is expected to be completed in March. The Neumünster site is part of the subsidiary Vion Zucht- und Nutzvieh (ZuN), which will remain under Vion ownership along with other locations. With the sale, nine employees based in Neumünster, out of a total of more than 50 employees of ZuN, will join ZNVG, the largest cattle and pig trading organisation in Schleswig-Holstein. Vion had already transferred the collection and marketing of pigs to ZNVG at the beginning of 2022.
“We are pleased to have found a reliable and trustworthy partner in ZNVG to ensure the future of our employees and their close collaboration with our independent shop stewards,” said Philippe Thomas, COO Germany of the Vion Food Group.
“This step enhances our portfolio for livestock collection and marketing in Schleswig-Holstein, and we look forward to working with our new colleagues and the livestock traders at Vion Zucht- und Nutzvieh,” added ZNVG Managing Director Astrid Seidel.
