Heineken To Buy Major Stake In Pivovarna Lasko

Heineken N.V. has agreed to buy a majority stake in Pivovarna Lasko d.d. for about 114.3 million euros. Heineken Monday said it signed a binding agreement with a consortium of shareholders to buy 51.11 percent of the issued share capital for 25.56 euros per share. 

The completion of the acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals and will be followed by a mandatory takeover offer extended to all remaining shareholders. 

Heineken CEO Jean-François van Boxmeer said, "This acquisition strengthens our position within the region and will bring two complementary strong local brands into our existing portfolio. We are very much looking forward to welcoming Pivovarna Laško as a successful member of our group." (dpa)
